WebSell Supports Buy Now, Pay Later Solution by humm

14 April 2020 • 3 min read

WebSell is pleased to announce that our webstores can now support humm’s Buy Now, Pay Later payment gateway through direct integration. Given the current economic and cost of living situation, the ability to pay in instalments is a key feature for customers in the coming months.

Buy Now, Pay Later features are an emerging trend in the e-commerce landscape. BNPL services are a big hit with Gen Z, where 44% of them predicted to use Buy Now, Pay Later at least once in 2022.

This post explains a bit about humm, including what it does and why you might need it. To implement humm on your webstore, open a ticket via the usual method or get in touch with your account manager.

What is humm?

Humm is a Buy Now, Pay Later payment solution that allows customers to pay for products in instalments rather than fully upfront. Humm functions like existing payment gateways for WebSell stores and can be selected by customers as a payment option from the checkout page.

Humm is Ireland’s leading instalment-based payment solution and we are happy to work with them to provide a payment solution for retailers that responds to current trends in retail.

How does it work?

When a customer places an order, the order details are sent to humm along with the retailer credentials. When humm validates the order and sends a response, the customer is then redirected to their secure site, where they either log in to their account or fill out an application form to apply for one.

Once the customer is in their account, they will enter their card details and complete the transaction. Humm will then redirect to your webstore once the transaction is complete, where the order is validated and processed, displaying the order confirmation page to the customer.

What are the benefits?

For retailers that sell bigger or more expensive items like furniture, electronics, fitness equipment, or fashion, for example, humm means you can continue to make big sales even if your customers don’t want to, or can’t pay everything right away.

Given the current global financial situation, providing an option to pay via humm means you’re responding to your customers’ needs during this time, while also securing sales. Buy Now, Pay Later is a proactive solution to e-commerce that can help you win brand loyalty long-term.

If you want to cater to a new generation of shoppers that are conscious of their financial situation, humm’s Buy Now, Pay Later solution is a must.

How do I get started with humm?

Implementing humm as a payment solution on your webstore is hassle-free.

Please open a ticket via the usual channels or contact your account manager to discuss getting set up with Buy Now, Pay Later.
